SPORTS MASSAGE CARDIFF

Professional Treatment and Care

Set up in 2010 at the ACT Clinic with a strong sporting background, James has worked with non-sporting individuals and international athletes of all levels in Great Britain, Europe and Japan and believes that sports massage and soft tissue therapy are not restricted only to athletes or to any specific type of sport.
James completed his undergraduate degree in sports science in 2008 and then continued on to do a UCAPD in sports massage which fully qualified him as a level 4 sports massage practitioner in 2009. In 2015 James qualified with an MSc in Performance Analysis and his MSc Thesis was published and also used in sports science symposiums.
Since then, James has also developed his practice with further qualifications in advanced soft tissue therapy techniques including myofascial release, trigger point therapy and dry needling (acupuncture), among others.
James is an international representative in his sport of Kendo and is currently captain of the GB Kendo Team, so he understands the demands on the body from high level and elite sport and has worked with the GB Kendo team, the Springboks (South African Rugby Union), the Wallabies (Australian Rugby Union), Argentinian Rugby Union, Australian Rugby League, Australian women’s Cricket, Team GB synchronised Ice-Skating, Welsh Athletics, Team GB women’s cycling, the FAW (Football Association Wales) and Harvard and Yale athletics teams as well as the Umbro 5’s football tournament.
James was shortlisted into the final 3 for the 2016 Nation Radio Sports Personality of the Year and has also been British Open and British Individual Kendo Champion among others.
The Cardiff Sports Clinic was opened by James in 2021 with the aim to provide top tier treatment for all patients at a new and easily accessible clinic.
